Kalyan — Marking 20 years of healthcare in the Kalyan-Dombivli-Ambernath region, Fortis Hospital Kalyan inaugurated its new state-of-the-art Emergency Department on Friday.
The facility was inaugurated by KDMC Commissioner Abhinav Goyal, Dr. S. Narayani, Business Head, Fortis Hospitals, Dr. Ashutosh Pandey, Facility Director, Fortis Hospitals, and Dr. Sudhir Gore, Emergency Head, Trauma Hospital. The department is now among the most advanced emergency care facilities in the region. Over the past 20 years, specialists at Fortis Hospital Kalyan’s Emergency Department have managed more than 60,000 emergency cases.

Building on this experience, the hospital launched Code QRT 2.0, a coordinated emergency response network connecting 15 major hospitals across the city. The initiative aims to ensure patients receive immediate treatment during the critical ‘golden hour’ in cases like heart attacks and strokes.
Speaking after the inauguration, KDMC Commissioner Abhinav Goyal said, “Kalyan has always been a city of opportunities. He mentioned that a tie-up with the municipal hospitals with this scheme would add values to citizen. Today, the city is home to millions. As the city grows, there should be no gaps in emergency services. Fortis Hospital Kalyan has been a strong pillar of healthcare for two decades, and that will continue.”
Dr. Ashutosh Pandey, Director, Fortis, said, “The inauguration of the Emergency Department marks 20 years of saving and improving lives in Kalyan. Through Code QRT 2.0, we will extend this expertise to 15 partner hospitals to ensure no delay in emergency stabilization and appropriate treatment.”
Dr. Sudhir Gore, Emergency Head, Trauma Hospital, added, “Every decision in this department is based on real patients and real emergencies. We have developed a protocol-based emergency response system that has delivered outcomes better than global standards. We have also ensured treatment times for heart attack and stroke cases that are faster than global benchmarks.”
