Prime Minister Narendra Modi has formulated policies for the welfare of disabled individuals, ensuring that they receive opportunities in employment, education, and other essential areas. The state government has also introduced numerous schemes for their benefit, striving to make proper use of the allocated funds for disabled individuals, stated Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
A state-level disabled sports competition has been organized at Reshimbagh Ground in Nagpur, jointly hosted by the Commissionerate of Disability Welfare, Pune, the Directorate of Sports, and the Late Prabhakar Datke Memorial Service Institute, Nagpur. Chief Minister Fadnavis visited the venue today and guided the participants.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from disabled athletes, making it an inspiring event. Several organizations are working for the welfare of disabled individuals, and the government is continuously addressing the challenges faced by these institutions, Fadnavis assured. He emphasized that efforts will be made to resolve their difficulties.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the remarkable performance of athletes in the Paralympics, where they have won numerous medals. He assured that they would receive due recognition in the near future. He further stated that in any sport, team spirit is more important than winning or losing. Those who develop a sense of teamwork excel in any field they enter. Participation in competitions itself holds great significance, he added.
